Marcus Davies

boxing coach

A carpenter by trade, Marcus first began kickboxing in 2015 to get in shape. After his plans to compete in the MMA were put on hold due to a torn LCL, he continued training but shifted his focus to his boxing skills. Marcus started his competitive boxing journey only 1 month into his training and subsequently competed in his first fight here on the Coast. Winning his first fight by decision and second by TKO, his love for competition exploded and he competed in a total of 7 fights in his first year!

The following year, Marcus met Tariq (Coach T) while training in Gibsons, and immediately admired his detail for technique. As soon as Tariq moved permanently to the Coast, Marcus approached him and asked if he would be his trainer for the upcoming title fight. After 3 months of extremely challenging and dedicated training (mainly in Kinnikinnick Park), Marcus won his fight on November 16, 2017 and became the B.C. Combsport Middleweight Champion.

At LIFT, Marcus will be running a range of boxing classes for a variety of skill levels. Marcus also plans to pursue his passion for coaching at risk youth, to help them learn the concepts of respect, brotherhood, and dedication through boxing that have helped shape his own life.
